Dune Part 2 is now almost a year late, the very anticipated release follow-up to the first film of the series that was released in 2021. Joining original cast members Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Rebecca Ferguson are Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, and Christopher Walken who add a bit of spice that was missing from the original.
Director, Denis Villeneuve, continued in the sequel with his grand-scale storytelling and nuanced themes that explore power and fanaticism that was filmed across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The sequel undaughterly lives up to the high expectations set by its predecessor as it expands on the universe adding depth to the existing characters while raising the stakes. The film includes some of the most stunning visual effects, intricate costume designs, an immersive soundscape, not to mention a masterful storytelling that manage to create one of the most captivating cinematic experiences
in recent years that deserves to be a contender for a best movie of the year nomination. Defiantly a THUMBS UP from me!
