Ron Jacobsohn Reviews A Tale of Love & Darkness

Today, I want to talk to you about a movie, which really left an impact on me.
It’s called “A Tale of Love and Darkness” and its Oscar winner, Natalie Portman, directorial debut.
Portman is known for taking upon herself complex characters as an actress, so it shouldn’t really come as a big surprise that as a director she did the exact same thing.
In A Tale of Love and Darkness, Portman goes back to her Israeli roots, adapting a very personal autobiographical book by renowned author Amos Oz, who is even doing a few cameos in the movie.
It was shot in Israel and in Hebrew, a language she had to learn as new, to pass as an Israeli in the movie.
The Israeli cast combined with the Hollywood filmmaking team makes for a movie, which gives you a very emotional experience while watching it.
Without giving away too much of the plot-line, I can say this was definitely a movie that you don’t forget the moment you leave the theatre. I give it a thumbs up!
