It was just a matter of time that the “Miracle on the Hudson River” story of Captain Sully Sullenberger from two-thousand-and-nine would become a Hollywood movie, but it took for a very sensitive director like Clint Eastwood to take the story and not make it into a Hollywood blockbuster.
In “Sully”, Eastwood tells the story in a very subtle almost realistic way and with two time Oscar winner, Tom Hanks, as the lead you know you gonna get a performance of a lifetime.
The movie is being told truthfully and with real life cameos that make you almost forget you are watching a movie. I loved this movie for its portrayal of a larger than life hero in an honest and genuine way. And may I how refreshing it was to watch an awards movie where the filmmaker can actually tell his whole story in ninety-five-minute.
“Sully” is already making the festival circles and gearing serious Oscar buzz and the fact that real life captain Sullenberger is part of the publicity campaign can never hurt, as we all love a great American hero’s.
This is a no-brainer, I give it a THUMBS-UP!
