Virtually unknown British actor Dev Patel and Indian model-turned-actress Feida Pinto become overnight celebrities as their labor of love, Slumdog Millionaire, became the awards season darling and made them Hollywood headliners.

He is the director who bought us Trainspotting, Shallow Grave and The Beach but his latest Slumdog Millionaire is breaking all records and has made him one of only seven directors to win a Golden Globe, Director’s Guild, BAFTA and Oscar for the same movie in one year.
